9. The Giving Tree
Published in 1964 by Harper and Row, this story is a piece of creativity by an American writer, Shel Silverstein. This book belongs to one of Silverstein’s stories for kids which has got it fame get oversees and translated into more than 30 languages. The story is an example of a true love and affection brought out by a young boy and a tree. The tree in question here provides everything the boy requires for survival. The tree could offer him food, shelter, place to play, shelter and finally a place to sit and relax when he got old and the tree was long cut leaving behind a stump.
